Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon Bites:

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets (skin removed, cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust for preferred heat level)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)

For Garnishing (optional):

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon pieces dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture for crispiness. In a bowl, toss salmon bites with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Heat the pan: Place a large non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and let it warm up. Add a small amount of olive oil if needed to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook the salmon bites: Add the seasoned salmon pieces in a single layer to the hot pan. Cook without moving them for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy. Flip carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and slightly crispy on all sides. Be careful not to overcook to keep salmon tender inside.
  4. Make the bang bang sauce: While the salmon cooks, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and fresh lime juice in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
  5. Toss salmon in sauce: When salmon bites are done, remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl. Pour the bang bang sauce over the warm salmon pieces and gently toss until fully coated.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley or cilantro, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds over the coated salmon bites. Serve immediately as a delicious appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the cayenne pepper or add more sriracha in the sauce.
  • Ensure salmon pieces are dry before cooking for maximum crispiness.
  • Use a non-stick skillet for easy flipping and to avoid sticking.
  • Can be served with steamed rice or as a party finger food.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days but are best enjoyed fresh.
