Sliders
- 24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (2 12-pack packages)
- 24 meatballs (frozen or fresh)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Garlic Herb Butter
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375˚F (190˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Make garlic herb butter: In a bowl, combine the softened butter with chopped parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic paste, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, creating a flavorful garlic butter spread.
- Prepare the rolls: Place the Kings Hawaiian rolls snugly in a 9×13 inch baking pan. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut a hole in the center of each roll to carve out space for the fillings. Brush the tops and inside edges of each hole generously with the prepared garlic herb butter. Bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes to toast the rolls and melt the butter. Remove from oven once toasted.
- Assemble the sliders: In a small bowl, mix together the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Fill each carved hole in the rolls halfway with the cheese mixture. Place one meatball into each cheese-filled hole, then top each meatball with a dollop of marinara sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheese blend evenly on top of the sliders.
- Bake to finish: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
- You can use frozen or freshly made meatballs depending on your preference or convenience.
- Make sure to cut holes just large enough to hold the meatballs and cheese to avoid spillage during baking.
- Fresh herbs can be used in place of dried for a brighter flavor.
- Serve these sliders immediately for best texture, as buns may become soggy if sitting for too long.
- Feel free to add extra marinara on the side for dipping.
