Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it and lining the pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Together Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the old-fashioned oats, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Stir well to evenly distribute all the dry ingredients.
  3. Add in the Wet Ingredients: Pour the melted unsalted butter, crack in the eggs, and add the vanilla extract into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is fully combined into a consistent batter.
  4. Add the Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter, making sure they are evenly dispersed without overmixing.
  5. Bake: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the bars turn a light golden color and are set in the middle.
  6. Sprinkle with Salt, Cool and Slice: Once baked, immediately sprinkle the top of the bars with coarse sea salt. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting out the parchment paper and slicing into squares.
