Oreo Pop Base
- 1 package Golden Oreo Thins (13.1 ounces)
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 6 drops green food coloring
Chocolate Coating and Decorations
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 12 rainbow gummy candies
- 1/4 cup gold sprinkles
- Crush Oreos: Place Golden Oreo Thins in a food processor and pulse until finely crumbled with a sand-like texture.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese, stirring until a soft, cohesive dough forms.
- Color Dough: Divide the dough into two equal parts. Add the green food coloring to one half and blend thoroughly until fully colored.
- Form Balls: Split each dough portion into 12 small pieces. Roll one green and one yellow piece together by hand to create a marbled ball.
- Prepare for Pops: Place the balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Make a small indent on top of each ball using a spoon, then insert a popsicle stick or rod into the center.
- Freeze: Freeze the Oreo pops for about 20 minutes to firm them up before dipping.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip Pops: Holding each ball by the stick, dip it into the melted chocolate to coat completely. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl, then return to the parchment paper.
- Decorate: Before the chocolate hardens, top each pop with rainbow gummy candies and sprinkle with gold sprinkles.
- Set and Serve: Refrigerate the coated pops for about 1 hour until chocolate is fully hardened. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Softened cream cheese ensures the dough binds well without being too sticky.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- You can substitute the rainbow gummy candies with other festive candies or sprinkles as desired.
- Keep pops refrigerated if not serving immediately to maintain firmness.
- For extra stability, you can chill the Oreo balls longer before dipping.
