These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, featuring a savory ground beef mixture combined with sautéed peppers and onions, cream cheese for extra creaminess, and melted provolone cheese, all served on soft slider rolls. Perfect as a party appetizer or a comforting meal, these sliders are baked to golden perfection with a buttery garlic topping.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 sweet yellow onion (diced)
  • 1.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Sliders

  • 24 slider rolls
  • 6 ounces provolone cheese (thinly sliced)

Topping

  • 4 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Cook the Beef Mixture: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and diced green bell pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking apart the meat with a spatula until fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat thoroughly.
  3. Season and Mix: Stir in garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, and onion powder to the cooked beef mixture. Then fold in the softened cream cheese until everything is combined and creamy.
  4. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally. Lay the bottom halves in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Evenly spread the beef mixture over the rolls, then layer thin slices of provolone cheese on top. Close the sliders with the top halves of the rolls.
  5. Prepare and Apply Topping: Combine melted butter and garlic salt in a small bowl. Before baking, cut between each slider to separate them lightly and brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the tops.
  6. Bake the Sliders: Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.

Notes

  • Drain the cooked beef mixture well to avoid soggy sliders.
  • Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing and creamier texture.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables like mushrooms or jalapeños for added flavor.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture generously for a more flavorful crust.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
